Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Stress Level of Tsunami-Affected Communities Living in Temporary Housing in Palu City-Indonesia

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the socio-economic conditions and public health in Palu. Tsunami-affected communities temporary housing are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19.
 AIM: This study aims examine effects of stress level tsunami-affected communities, solutions that they adopt for dealing with this situation, whether obey protocols process.
 METHOD: used an analytical survey method respondents consisted 170 households affected by tsunami living Lere, Palu City, Indonesia. data were collected through interviews was measured using DASS-42. then analyzed paired t-test percentage.
 RESULTS: from DASS-42 questionnaire show percentages people mild, moderate, severe 35%, 60%, 5%, respectively. (losing jobs p = 0.002, decreasing income 0.0016, no job vacancy 0.0012, reduced government assistance duringthe pandemicwith 0.000, uncertainty over end 0.001). Some strategies cope condition include socializing neighbors (100%), working together (40%), breaking Ramadan fast attending congregational prayers promoting mutual cooperation (100%). However, did not while doing these activities as wear mask do physical distancing wash their hands nor follow stay-at-home orders (100%).
